The event was held in Camiguin. I normally don’t do out-of town engagements but since the couple are good friends of my husband, I had to make an exception. They billeted us at Bahay Bakasyunan, making it a gig and a vacation at the same time for me.

I did the makeup of the bride and maid of honor only. The hair was taken care by the bride’s regular hairstylist from Camiguin.

Most of them couldn’t stop thanking their photographers or coordinators in public, but the makeup artist is almost always forgotten after the event. Only a few  go the extra mile by posting on facebook their feedback on the people who prettified them.

Aveline is one of those brides who gave me an unexpected pat in the back with her kind (not to mention humorous) words: “hi doc grace! thank you for making me look and feel beautiful on my wedding day. you’re the nxt person to thank after my husband:) im so glad i had u, u did an awesome job! everyone is happy and ill be forever grateful to you:)”

To Aveline, thank you for one of the best compliments I’ve received as a makeup artist. You and your entourage were already beautiful to begin with. My job was just to make it more obvious. :) I’m glad that you liked our output. May you have a blessed married life with your  husband and wonderful kids!

Unfortunately, I had important matters to attend to at that time. This year, I was finally able to glam her up on her senior year. It appears to me that Nicole doesn’t know how pretty she really is. The shy, soft-spoken Abba’s Orchard student reminded me of a younger Cheska Garcia or a living doll. She brought her Urban Decay Book of Shadows III which I used on her eyes. The shades Psychedelic Sister, Midnight Cowboy Rides Again, and Perversion from the UD palette were the ones I played with to achieve dramatic eyes. Eyeliner Zero was a smudge-free deep black liner that I find absolutely awesome.
